The Central Canadian Bluegrass Awards (CCBA) show, by The Northern Bluegrass Committee, occurs each year in November, at the prestigious Deerhurst Resort Lodge in Huntsville, Ontario. |
The bluegrass awards show conducted by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), each fall, in Nashville, TN, is considered by many to be the premiere awards show in North America. Certainly, the show quality and production value make it equivalent to the 'Grammies', and it is not unusual to find grammy award winners amongst the nominees listing for this show. |
The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) awards show, held each JAN-FEB in Nashville, TB, is probably the oldest bluegrass awards show in North America. SPBGMA possibly has goals and aspirations closer to those of BMACC then any of the other national groups and associations. The award selection process is closer to that utilized by our own CCBA show run by NBC, and usually has results strikingly different from those of the IBMA's awards. |
